We believe every child is beloved, whole, and made in the image of God. All of our Children and Family events/ programs are designed to partner with families to meet you and your children where you are and for who you are as we grow in faith together. It is our mission to create and hold spaces both inside and outside of the church where every child knows they are seen, loved, and safe to explore and grow in their individual faith journey.

We can do more together!

Our Children's Sunday morning programming utilizes Orange 252 Curriculum. We know that a child's faith journey doesn't stop when they walk out the doors of the church and we also know that the family has the greatest potential to influence a child. "The average church only has 40 hours in a given year to influence a life; the average parent has 3,000 hours per year to influence a life." By partnering with the home, we can make a greater impact and provide space for every child to grow in faith to know and share God's love.
Sunday Mornings with AUMC Kids
On Sundays, all Children PreK-5th Grade are invited to meet in Room 209 at 10am for Elementary Large Group. From Large Group we will move to Small Groups (divided by grade levels) for the rest of the morning to further explore our Large Group lesson through age specific activities. Each month, we have a new theme and "word of the month" which our weekly Bible stories and small group activities are centered on. Hover over the images below to see what we've learned about each month so far this year!

Family worship
Kids in worship spaces matter. Kids seeing YOU worship matters.
On Family Worship Sundays (typically held on the first Sunday of the month), we do not have Children or Youth regular Sunday programming. Rather, we encourage our families to attend worship with us together! At these 10 am services, there is a children's message and activity at the front, kids’ worship bags, and children's bulletins to help keep kids of all ages engaged in worship in their own way! Childcare is available every Sunday in the nursery for ages 3 and under.
Children of ALL ages are welcome in the Sanctuary (or other worship space) during ANY service time!

CHILDREN'S MUSIC
“Children’s Music” is a holisitic program that is woven into the fabric of Children & Family Ministry at AUMC. We believe that singing at church is integral to both worship and community for young and old. Further, we believe that kids singing in church is a vital piece of their faith development. Below is an overview of how we encourage children to sing and in engage in worship and community at church.
Monthly Hymns
Each month children learn a hymn during Children’s Large Group on Sunday mornings. Hand motions to go with lyrics are often included in this learning time. The hymn they learn each month is the opening hymn for the upcoming Family Worship. Whether they stay in the pew or run to the front of worship to help lead the congregation- they will recognize these hymns and be able to engage with this time in worship.
Singing Sundays + Practices
On specified Family Worship Sundays, Children will perform a song(s) that they have been learning in practices led by Tim Kennedy and some of our youth. These practices are held in between worship services in Room 306. The best way to keep up with upcoming singing Sundays and practices is through the “Events” tab of your Parent Cue app. See below for more information about connecting with AUMC Kids on the Parent Cue app.
Music Education
Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for kids to go deeper into music education. This includes music curriculum at VCS and other intentional opportunities to insert music education into Children & Family Ministry events and programs.

The Parent Cue App + AUMC
Everyday Faith Made Simple.
The Parent Cue App is your hub for staying in the know on all things Children & Family Ministry at AUMC. When you connect to AUMC as your church on the app, you’ll have access to the “Church” tab. Here you’ll find ministry contacts based on your child’s age, news (be sure to have notifications turned on for the app to get notified when there is a new announcement!), and a list of upcoming Children & Family Ministry events.
In addition to news, events, and announcements- the Parent Cue app is designed to help the church partner with you, the home. Each week, you will have access to multiple resources to not only see what your child will be learning about at church each Sunday, but to help you find practical ways to keep the conversation going at home together.
