"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you."
John 14:27
What greater delight is there than spreading joy during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. There are several holiday outreach opportunities from giving to our Holiday Grocery Card Fund to helping prepare and serve Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to our neighbors.

Help put Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner on the table for Arvada families! As in years past, AUMC has committed to supporting 18 families, selected by local schools. However, this year our collection aims to go beyond just these selected families to support our neighbors impacted by SNAP. The more money collected, the more families we will be able to help in addition to the 18. So please give generously.
Give online through our website or on your AUMC app and select "Holiday Grocery Card Fund" from the fund dropdown. You can also give by a check made out to "Arvada United Methodist Church" and include "Holiday Grocery Cards" in the memo line. You can drop your check off in-person or mail it to the church (6750 Carr Street, Arvada, CO 80004).

Severe Weather Shelter
AUMC has committed to provide up to 80 dinners any Wednesday where the weather is considered 'severe' and life threatening to our unhoused neighbors. We will be collecting food items and monetary donations, and we will be seeking volunteers to help pack food bags on the first Sunday of each month from December through April. Click the "Keep Me Informed!" button to be added to our mailing lists and stay up to date for various aspects of this developing ministry. Once you're added, we'll keep you informed as specific needs become clear.

Sponsor a Family
The Faith in Action Team will begin seeking sponsors for 19 families (identified by the schools AUMC supports ) on Nov. 30. There will be a board in the narthex with the names and numbers of family members. We will be asking AUMC folks to sponsor families by buying a $25.00 gift card from Walmart or Target for each family member. The sponsored families will also receive homemade cookies and a quilt. The cards and Christmas goodies will be delivered to the schools by Dec. 16.

Milk for Christmas
The Faith in Action Global Outreach Team will collect funds to buy dry milk for families living in rural parts of Guatemala. Look for the table with the cow in the Narthex after each service in December to learn more about this ministry. You can give online through our website or on your AUMC app and select "Global Ministries Fund" from the fund dropdown. You can also give by a check made out to "Arvada United Methodist Church" and include "Global Ministries" in the memo line. Prepare & serve Christmas Dinner at The Rising
The Faith in Action Team will again coordinate the preparation and serving of a meal on Christmas Day at the Rising Church. The FIA Team will provide ham and turkey. AUMC folks will be asked to provide traditional side dishes and bring them to the church by Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. We will also need around 15 volunteers to warm up and serve the food on Christmas Day. Look for the information about how you can provide food or volunteer to help serve the meal which will be in the Narthex beginning on December 7.
