I have grown up going to AUMC as I have lived my whole life in Arvada.

Experience

I started volunteering at the church when I was in 6th grade by cadeting in Sunday School. I participated in UMYF throughout high school and then started teaching Sunday School as well. I left for college and then came back to AUMC and began teaching the preschool Sunday School class.

What do you do at AUMC?

Currently I still teach the preschool class with my mom, Kathy Kelly. I needed a way to make a little money until I got a full time job and that's when I became a co-communications coordinator for AUMC. I basically receive announcements from various people in the church and I prepare the announcements for the Sunday bulletins. I also create the announcement Power Point presentations that are shown on the screen before the church services. I have done this now for about 2 years.

What do you like most about being part of the AUMC team?

I enjoy this position as I get to know different people throughout the church. Currently I am also a Youth Sponsor. I greatly enjoy working with the children and the youth of the church. Even though I now have a full time position as an Administrative Assistant at the National Renewable Energy Lab, I still have time for developing the announcements and working with the youth and children of the church.
