Wednesday Afternoon Book Club
Date & Time: 4th Wednesdays, except Nov., and Dec. meets on Dec 6th, 1:30 PM

Description: Members suggest books - often best sellers – during the Fall for the following calendar year. Final selections are made at the December meeting, and members volunteer to lead the discussions of books of particular interest to them. Interested readers are invited to the monthly discussions, which are announced in the Circuit Rider and Sunday Bulletin.

Happiness Project. A different focus will be addressed each month - friendships, work, mindfulness,

Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life By Karen Armstrong

Description: “Karen Armstrong believes that while compassion is intrinsic in all human beings, each of us
needs to work diligently to cultivate and expand our capacity for compassion. Here, in this straightforward,
thoughtful, and thought-provoking book, she sets out a program that can lead us toward a more
compassionate life.” Books will be available in the church office for $15. Please sign up to order one by

Description: In this 4-week class, the pastors will offer an introduction to the United Methodist Church and Arvada UMC in particular. It is designed for those wanting a “refresher” course and those who are interested in becoming members of AUMC. It will be held once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
